Details about back acne treatmentStudies have shown that the food does not seem to play any role in the formation or flare up of back acne and no evidence for that the fried or oily food or fat rich diet causes any difference or worsens the condition of back acne and also excess oil production or dirt does not seem to affect condition of back acne. Even excessive perspiration after daily exercise, whether washed off promptly or not, does not seem to activate back acne or blackheads on the back. Mental and physical stress, which is known to worsen facial acne, does not show the same effect on back acne, perhaps because stress causes people to be worried about their acne and squeeze at them, which may worsens the condition. Amount of back acne in its simpler conditions may be treated by the counter drugs. But some skin specialist or dermatologist must treat the severe form of acne on the back, called as cystic acne. Most probably, the simpler forms of acne may disappear with daily hygienic routine but in case of cystic acne, which goes deep into the skin and causes permanent scarring, it must be given more medical attention than simple pustules or blackheads on the back. One good treatment option is with ten percent of benzoyle peroxide. To control the symptom, wash daily with a salicylic-acid-based cleanser, and be sure to shower as soon as possible after perspiring. Clean the area with a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid pad and follow with an alpha hydroxy acid-based body moisturizer if needed. Stubborn acne is usually treated with the topical retinoid known as Retin-A or a course of oral antibiotics such as tetracycline or minocycline.
