Basics of N-lite Acne Treatment

N-Lite is a laser acne treatment which is one of the latest acne treatments in the market. This laser treatment is more effective when compared to the other treatments of acne which uses antibiotics. N-lite has no side effects and the treatment is painless and fast. Porphoryn is a substance that is present in our skin which is used to release oxygen to fight against the bacteria that causes acne. N-lite interacts with this substance called porphoryn to release oxygen that kills bacteria. N-lite is a yellow light laser. This laser treatment repairs the damage done to the skin as a result of acne. First this laser treatment destroys the bacteria that causes acne and causes spots to appear on the treated area. Secondly the spots are treated and they disappear as a result of the new collagen that is formed below and around the spots. For mild to moderate acne, a single treatment using N-lite is enough to cure acne. Once treated with N-lite, it suppresses acne for around 3 months. For severe acne frequent treatment is necessary. Usually it takes around 30 minutes for treating the face area which contains acne and smaller areas can be treated much faster.

N-lite is a painless treatment and the patient may sense warming of the skin when they are treated with this yellow laser light. Trained medical technicians only give N-lite laser treatment and hence it is safe. The cost of the treatment varies with the individual and the area that is covered during treatment. It is better to consult your doctor before taking up this N-lite laser treatment. Although there is no side effects upon using this treatment a slight swelling or reddening happens occasionally. This also subsides very quickly. Usually a spot test is done on a small area before proceeding with this treatment on a larger area. You should not go for N-lite laser acne treatment if you had recent outbreaks of herpes or warts. It is also possible to treat wrinkles created by the facial movements such as smiling using N-lite laser treatment.
