Blackheads are
formed due to the blockage of the pores with the sebum (oil) secreted
by the sebaceous glands. This oil turns black in color when it comes
into contact with the air and when it oxidizes. People mistake this
for the dirt in the skin. It is not so. Sometimes the dead cells
also block the pores of the skin and the oil may get trapped in
the pores forming blackheads. It is essential to remove the blackheads
otherwise this may lead to acne and pimples. Infections of the pores
are possible due to the growth of bacterial in the blocked pores.

before rinsing it off. Raw undiluted lemon juice can also be applied
