Hello, my name is Jeremy Carew Reid and I was bedridden for many years with a sickness called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. What follows is an account of my healing journey on how I cured myself from one of the most mysterious and stubborn illnesses that is effecting and crippling millions of people around the world today.

Effective chronic fatigue syndrome medication
Many described
therapies for chronic fatigue syndrome. Because the cause of chronic
fatigue syndrome is unknown, treatment programs are directed at
relief of symptoms rather than cure. Always talk to your doctor
about any treatment decisions for CFS. In general, people with CFS
should pace themselves carefully and avoid excessive physical or
emotional stress. Total rest should also be avoided as it may make
your fatigue worse. People with CFS are often sensitive to many
medications, especially those that affect the central nervous system.
Usually, doctor will begin with low doses of medication and gradually
increase the dose depending on side effects and your response to
the medication. Because drug therapy is directed at symptom relief,
medications should only be used in CFS if all other causes of the
symptom have been ruled out.
Remember that
all medications can cause side effects. Medications for chronic
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: People use these medications,
also called NSAIDs, for pain relief. Prescription drugs include
tramadol hydrochloride, celecoxib and other naproxen-containing
medications. Low-dose tricyclic antidepressants: These medications
may improve sleep and relieve mild generalized pain. Newer antidepressants
have been used to treat depression in people with chronic fatigue
syndrome. Anxiolytic agents: These medications are used to treat
anxiety in people with CFS. Antimicrobials: A specific infection
as a cause for chronic fatigue syndrome has not been identified,
and antibiotic, antiviral, and antibiotic therapy with doxycycline
may be effective.
Many people
report successful treatment of CFS symptoms with experimental therapies,
herbal supplements, and dietary modifications. Dietary supplements
and herbal preparations can have potentially serious side effects,
and some can interfere or interact with prescription medications.
The Lancet, suggests that taking low doses of hydrocortisone reduces
fatigue levels in some CFS patients, at least in the short term.
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Preliminary studies suggest DHEA
relieves symptoms in some CFS patients. Try to stick to a routine
of modest, regular exercise. You may benefit from a few sessions
with a physical therapist.
According to
the CDC, therapies sometimes used by CFS patients include acupuncture,
aquatic therapy, chiropractic, cranial-sacral, light exercise, massage,
self-hypnosis, stretching, tai chi, therapeutic touch and Yoga emotional
support Psychotherapy. Recent data suggest that cognitive behavioral
therapy may improve disability and symptoms in some CFS patients
whose coping behaviors or perceptions of their illness slow their
recovery. When you have CFS, it can put a strain on your entire
family. If the strain begins to trigger conflicts, family counseling
may help smooth the bumps.
