Various Foot Fungus Remedies

Foot fungus is a common fungal infection of the feet. The fungus lives in the outer layer of the skin and causes infections of different types. Tinea pedis (Tinea- Fungus, pedis- feet) is the fungal infection of the feet. This is also called as athlete’s foot or foot fungus. Diluted alcohol taken in the cotton balls can be rubbed in the affected area and allowed it to dry. Mild solution of boric acid is used to wash the feet. A foot bath prepared out of baking soda is used to soak the feet for 30 minutes before bedtime holds good in containing the foot fungus infection. Baking soda can also be sprinkled in the shoes and socks which will be used as an anti-perspiring and help to neutralize the skin. A solution made out of laundry bleach by mixing two tablespoons of laundry bleach with a gallon of a warm water is used to soak the affected for 10-15 minutes twice daily. A solution prepared by mixing equal volume of apple cider vinegar and water and soak the feet for 10 minutes up to ten days or until the symptoms vanish.

The foot fungus condition is also being treated by herbal preparations. Aleo vera gel is used twice daily on the affected area. An effective herbal remedy is the usage of chaparral solution. This is prepared by mixing six tablespoons of dried chaparral to one quart of boiling whiskey or wine and simmers for 20 minutes and keeps it cool for 8 hours. Then use it as a foot bath. Garlic can also be used for the treatment of foot fungus since it is an excellent anti-fungal agent. Researchers claim that the elements found in the garlic are ready to kill the fungus of all types. Garlic can be used in several ways. A clove of garlic can be rubbed directly into the affected site. Use the freshly crushed garlic on the foot fungus area and leave it for at least 30 minutes. This should be carried out for 10 days for effective cure. Try to add half a cup of white vinegar to a gallon of water and soak the feet for 10-15 minutes and air-dry it. Any one of these different measures can be adhered depending upon the one’s convenience.
