Useful toe fungus treatmentThe toenail fungus is otherwise called as onchomycosis. This condition occurs mainly to the persons who are having excessive sweat in their feet and wearing the shoes through out the day without giving enough aeration to the feet. The overgrown nails naturally harbor the fungus. When there is any damage to the nail integument, they gain entry into the nail and get hold off and create change in the color of the nail giving unsightly look to the nail. This kind of infection can readily be treated with some (unnatural) internal medications available against prescriptions such as griseofulvin (Fulvicin), itraconazole (Sporonox), terfinabine (Lamisil) and fluconazole (Diflucan). These medications have side effects such as nausea, stomach upset, headache, and hepatitis and kidney damage. Hence these medicines are available on prescriptions only. There are alternative medicines also available. Some of the natural medicines and home remedies available for toe fungus are Campho-Phenique, tea tree oil, toothpaste applied with a toothbrush, or soaking the toe in rum or sea water. Pierce Vitamin-E oil directly into the affected nail and application of Vicks VapoRub twice daily also holds good in controlling the infection. Soak the feet in the Pau dArco tea solution. Rubbing alcohol or white Iodine in the toe nail also fetches good results in containing the infection. These healthy and wise living tips/methods mentioned above would help eradicate the most persistent fungi on the toenails. The sure cure for toe fungus infection depends on continual daily use of the chosen type of cure without any disruption until the infected tissue is eradicated. The truth is, though, that anybody can get toenail fungus, with or without athlete's foot.
