Understanding Reflexology Techniques
The exact methods
of the reflexology treatment is that the reflex zones (nerve endings)
in the feet are massaged or stimulated in order to encourage the
blood circulation and normalize the function of the body's internal
organs to aid the body's own healing processes. The well known 65
reflex points on the feet are corresponds to a particular gland,
organ or other body part. The reflexologist applies a motive force
with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques on the reflex points,
looking for 'crystals' near the nerve endings. The theory promotes
that, nerve endings are unable to transmit their impulses due to
these crystalline deposits, which may grow up and prevent the pathway
of circulation between the feet and the body parts and organs. Applied
pressure will break the crystals structure and clearing the pathway
of circulation.
Reflexology treatments can be called as a lovely torture to the
nerve ending points and the aim of this treatment focuses on the
body's own healing processes, by using its own recuperative resources
to heal and restore. When reflexologist applies the pressure at
various points, we must let him (her) know whether the pressure
is too hard or too soft. A highly-qualified reflexologist can read
the same from your facial expressions, like tensing or jerking to
avoid pain. You may feel minor pain during a reflexology treatment,
especially in early treatments, and will differ according to your
physical conditions. The pain also depends on the amount of pasir
at the nerve ending and the applied pressure by reflexologist.
