Cures for Warts - An Overview
Although it
is possible to remove warts using the conventional chemicals, and
herbal medications that are available over the counter, use of technology
is a way that cannot be underestimated. When we say technology we
are talking about the laser technology and the cryotherapy used
for removal of warts. Laser technologies are sought after now a
days for removal of warts. These technologies are not only used
for treating warts but also for treating acne and acne scars. Skilled
technicians or practitioners are required for the use of these technologies
for removal of warts. A person who is willing to have their warts
treated with these technologies should first consult their physician
before taking up any treatment for warts. These treatments are painful
when compared to the other types of treatment that are used for
treating warts.
CO2 lasers and
the Pulse dye lasers are the two types of laser treatments that
are used in treating warts. In the CO2 laser treatments the warts
are cut off and vaporized to remove them from the skin. This treatment
is a bit painful. Pulse dye lasers use flash lamps to direct laser
lights on the warts to generate heat in the blood cells in the warts.
The heat thus generated cuts off the blood supply to the warts thus
starving of the warts of its nutrition. This helps is destroying
the warts. The warts will fall off naturally after the treatment
using lasers. Debridement or surgical removal is also performed
if necessary before and after the laser treatment. Cryotherapy or
Cryosurgery is another method that is used to remove warts. In this
method the warts are frozen to temperatures of -196 deg C and then
removed. Cryotherapies are costlier when compared to other treatments.
In general laser treatments are costly to perform and the cost of
the treatment also depends on the area of the skin that is treated
for warts. The geographical location of the treatment also plays
a role in the cost of the laser treatment.
