Anal Warts Cures - An Overview
Anal wart or
condyloma acuminatum is one of the sexually transmissible disease
mostly affect the age group of 17 to 33 years in the Unites states.
Anal warts are the small warts that occur in the rectum. The first
and foremost thing an individual who is affected with these warts
should immediately abstain from sexual contact from his sexual partner.
At first these warts may appear as painless bumps or itching, mostly
unnoticed. Cure for this disease depends on the medicaments used
and also constant application of the medicine without interruption.
The anal wart is usually treated by means of creams, ointments and
oral medicines. The main goal of treatment is to reduce the amount
of HPV and improve the cosmetic appearance. Counseling of the patients
about realistic expectations for treatment efficacy should be discussed
thoroughly before starting the treatment.
Podofilox gel
is one of the medicaments used for anal wart cure. The health care
provider should apply the initial treatment with Podofilox gel to
teach the technique of application to the patients. Patients should
apply the gel with a cotton swab, or with a finger on the anal wart
twice a day for 3 days and the therapy should be with hold for 4
days. This cycle should be repeated for a total of four cycles.
Another therapy with Imiquimod 5% cream also being used for the
control of anal wart. The Imiquimod cream should be applied on the
warts by the patients before bedtime three times a week for as long
as 16 weeks. The treatment area should be cleaned off by mild soap
after 6-10 hours of therapy. TCA or BCA 80-90% can be applied to
warts in small amount and allow it to dry. If white frosting is
developed at the site of treatment, the excess unreacted acid may
be removed by application of sodium-bi-carbonate or powder with
talc. This treatment should be repeated weekly until the warts disappear.
